Welcome to Healing Butterfly Reiki and Socionics Consulting! My name is Sarah Hubbard. I am a Christian, a college student, and a Level 2 Reiki practitioner. My practice is online-only, but Reiki works just as well across distances as in person. I approach Reiki as a transmission of God’s spirit through my hands, and I keep the energy pure and unmediated by objects or occult frameworks.
My temperament is quiet, serious, thoughtful, and empathetic. When not practicing Reiki, I enjoy writing, sewing, Victorian literature, drawing, knitting, embroidery, and more. I hope to become certified in animal Reiki at some point.
In addition, I engage in independent Socionics research. My secondary specialty and offering is an in-depth Socionics analysis, which I offer for individuals and groups. Socionics is a true passion of mine. Though not widely known in America, it has unlocked a staggering degree of insight for me. I am not exaggerating. When I discovered Socionics, it is like I found the key to human behavior. I would be honored to give you some of those insights so that you can experience that sense of enlightenment.
How can Reiki be Christian?
Reiki is religiously neutral, though many Christians fear that it is New Age or occult. They have good reason to fear it, based on how modern Western culture has misinterpreted and augmented it. Most practitioners now almost always combine it with ideas like angel cards, oracle cards, Tarot, Akashic records, crystals, mediumship, past lives, etc.
But Reiki was not originally meant to be like this. It was discovered by Mikao Usui as a universal energy that flows from the hands, activated through specific symbols. Usui intended its sole purpose to be bringing physical and spiritual healing, not any occult purpose.
Reiki Symbols and Christianity
I believe that the three Level 2 Reiki symbols all correspond to essential characteristics of God:
CKR (Cho Ku Rei): the energy of the Holy Spirit. CKR focuses that energy and asks the Spirit to guide it to the places that need healing.
SH (Sei Heiki): God and man becoming one. This is a perfect match for the nature of Christ, who is fully God and fully man. Using SH allows a practitioner to specifically invoke the love, healing, and clarity of Christ. It illuminates the emotional and spiritual blockages (including sin) in a person’s soul.
HSZSN (Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen): allows Reiki to work regardless of space or time. This describes the boundless, timeless, eternal nature of God. Using HSZSN allows a practitioner to bring God’s healing into the past. Specifically, it can heal old wounds through newfound comfort, safety, and spiritual clarity. HSZSN can also call on God to bless and protect the future, including the righteousness of our future conduct.
I do not use any “extra” ideas. If you are tired of the confusing occult patchwork of today’s Reiki, I hope you will find me a refreshing change.
